- Silhoet
is one of the quiet ones... Just kind of hangs around for a rub on
the head but then off she goes to munch on some hay. She is a big, deep
bodied, long and level doe. We admire her for her strengths that
she adds to our herd. She isn't a big milker but she has made up
for it with her strong udder attachment that she passes on. She
had just enough capacity to earn her one leg. But yet not enough
to continue on as a competitor in our show string. She makes a
great brood doe and will remain in the herd with us till the end.
Silhoet tested positive for CAE 11-21-08. She is 7
years old. I suspected she was positive a year ago and have since moved her
in an area in which she has no contact with any other goats
besides an older gal that doesn't show, for company. I will
not use her colostrium or milk as I will dry her off directly
after kidding and of course I will be sure the kids will be
removed immediately after birth. Silhoet has several other
daughters that have tested Neg for CAE so I do not fear using her
as a brood doe as she is still a big asset to the herd.

passed 4 days after kidding in "09" after delivering
twin AI kids. One each and needless to say the doe kid will never
leave she is a carbon copy of her mom. Scandal another daughter of
hers fresehed with an outstanding udder and will finally hit the
show ring hoping to carry on her legacy!
